The filings column is how many events were measured. The days column is how many distinct dates they landed on, and that is the number the statistics actually run on. Results filings arrive in a handful of dense weeks, and on any one of those days every company is exposed to the same market — so thousands of filings carry only dozens of independent observations. Treating them as independent inflates the t-statistic by roughly ten times. The verdict column is after that correction, and after allowing for the fact that every filing type was tested at once.
